Could this be a more serious problem in disguise?

My battery is dead after spending six consecutive days undriven in below-freezing temps. What alarms me is that it won't even jumpstart. Everything lights up, but I just get a series of rapid clicks when I hit the start button. My friendly neighborhood Honda service department says I might have to charge the battery for four hours before it has enough power to start the engine. I did not leave my headlights on, so it seems a little strange to me that my battery would be THAT dead. Am I imagining things, or is there a potentially more serious problem here?

Very common for Hondas
(at least Civics, Integras and S2ks, which all have the same battery). Have you ever seen a battery so small? Most motorcycle batterys are bigger.

I hope mine starts - its been in the garage for about 8 weeks with no start-ups.

I left mine for weeks at a time with no start-up last winter with no problem. Are you sure you didn't leave the lights on anything to drain the battery?

I'm sure I didn't leave the headlights on. It is possible that I left the cabin light on, but I seriously doubt it. Is there anything else that can draw power when the keys are not in the ignition?

If you are going to store your car you should disconnect the battery.
You will have to reset the code in the radio but at least you won't have a dead battery.

Did you leave your alarm on all that time?

Yes, my alarm was armed the entire time. Do you really think that it would drain the battery?

It was probably your alarm. I remember someone else around here with the same problem. I've gone two to three weeks without starting it and it started everytime on the first try.
