Coupe or convertible, theoretically

This is a fresh new question, much, much better than the millionth "What's the diff between model years?" or "Should I buy the S2000 or a Ferrari Enzo?".
But I digress ...
For me, the drop-top was a feature I really wanted and made the S2000 even more desirable, part of a stunning total package that was just right for me.
If the S2000 was coupe only, I would likely be tooling around in a Boxster of some sort.
But I digress ...

To answer the subject of the thread, my criteria for a new car were convertible first, reliability second, followed closely by performance. So, the S is a convertible first and foremost to me. The fact that it's a serious performer was a big plus, though.

I guess there are different types of performance to be considered. I agree that the handling performance of the S is excellent and I can think of few cars that are good competitors in this price category. If you

I bought mine as a convertible, no doubt. It wasn't until after I had settled in to driving it that I really discovered how great it is. Especially after a run at the track, where it felt 100x more comfortable than my WRX.
I was looking at Miatas just because I wanted a roadster, but after driving the S it was no contest. Plus I liked getting the HIDs, nice gearbox, and the amazing engine.

I was actually looking into buying a truck when i stumbled upon the S which I had always loved, both as a performer and a convertable, when given the opportunity i jumped on it Bottom line, coup or vert I would have bought, but I really really love the fact its a convert nothing beats a open top on a nice day.

Fun and affordable drop top is all I was looking for a year ago, it was between the '97 Boxster, SLK, TT, or 'OO s2k, I couldn't be happier with my choice, by far the most exciting to drive and gets the most looks, especially the black with red interior
