Default A couple of quick simple questions about an intake

Tried the search function, but it is down.

Anyway, what intake is this, and where can it be purchased?

In case the picture is not showing up for some reason, it's basically a snorkel tube that seems to hook up to the stock airbox, but pull cooler air in from closer to the front bumper. It looks like a very simple design... and if I mate that with a drop in air-filter, it would seem that it would almost as effective as an entire replacement box-type intake system. I've seen it on several cars on this site, and would like to read up more about it, and/or find out where to get one.

Thanks.

Looks great man. I really like it. So is it just the snorkel piece, basically? Where'd you get yours, and how much was it if you don't mind my asking?

That's the intake I'm pretty sure I want to get.

i have bought mine used from a member here as a package deal, which included the spoon throttle body and filter. if you want it new, it can be purchased from (www.aj-racing.com), or if you want a painted replica, you can get one from muz (www.prestigeautoaccessories.com). hope that helps.

edited: i've just noticed that you have an '04, so i'm not so sure if it'll fit.

Muz makes a snorkel that fits the AP2s ... The normal spoon snorkel won't fit without modification. I know TubeDriver is selling his over in the Mid-Atlantic forum...

Oh, I didn't even think about the fitment issues between the AP1 and AP2. So is that guy in the Mid-A section selling a snorkel for an AP2? If so, you wouldn't happen to have a link to his for sale thread would you? I looked and didn't see it. Or in the alternative, where can I buy a Muz snorkel?

Thanks.

No, the snorkel he's selling is a Spoon snorkel for an AP1 but it will fit on an AP2 with some modification, I think you need to cut something on the front bumper or undertray to get it to fit.
