Default To CR or not to CR

Now that the CR has been around a little bit, I think alot of bashers from the begginning now have seen that the CR looks and function has grown on them. Knowing what we know now, if price was not a huge factor, if you were to buy a new S, which one would you get?

I know that there has been a few threads on this subject, but never a poll, unless i suck at searches.

No replies, just a vote.

I'm going to break your rules and reply.

I bought the exact car that you listed as your "Future" because I wanted the easy top-down driving that the base car provides.

If the CR were like the Type S in Japan, I might've chosen that instead.

I went for the base model. I do love the CR, but with the rainstorms that pop up so quickly here in Florida, I need a convertible top.

Only reason why I'd buy a CR is if it had some collector value to it, but it'll take a while before we start seeing that and I'd rather mod my car by myself. Much easier to install hardtop vs. softtop.
Only thing I would really want off the CR is the rims which the base comes with. The seats look like a yellow version of the EP3 seats, only the ep3 seats had red stitching which I love.

I also went base...My S2K is my daily driver and what with the condition of the streets and roads down here, the base model is raw-boned enough. Plus I don't think I have enough driving skill to really take advantage of the CR upgrades nor would I in 98% of driving even if I could.

This is probably the only instance where I would prefer the base model of anything. The CR is just ugly. There is no getting around that fact. The regular good 'ol S2000 is beautifully proportioned and should not have been messed with. The front lip and rear spoiler just look like hell on the CR.

I'm a happy CR owner and have no regrets. Its a much better version on my recent '05 I just got rid of. Buy the one you like the most based of your own judgment and not someone else's. Best of luck!
