cruising in VTEC range
What's up, guys.
Stupid question, is it bad to cruise above 6k rpm? like in 3rd, or 4th gear?
I just LOVE the engine sound above VTEC point and I like the fact that I have instant power if I step on the gas.
I'm talking about driving 6k+ rpm for an extended period of time, say 10-15 min.
Would it cause excessive wear to the engine?
Cuz I heard track laps put a lot of stress on the engine unlike city driving and on the track, I'm pretty sure that the driver stays above VTEC most of the time.
Any opinions?

VTEC won't even engage if you are just "cruising". It is based upon throttle position and other variables as opposed to strictly RPM.
Go in your car and SLOWLY take it into VTEC range, you'll notice it doesn't engage.

more rpms will definiatly lower the life..
Think about it, cruising at 3000rpm or cruising at 6000rpm
That would be double, so cut the engine life in half...
Its not exact and I know there are other variables guys so dont harp on me..
