Default "Curb Rash"

While parallel parking I hit the curbstones resulting in some "roughing up" of the edges of my wheel. The scratches are probably more like eighth inch deep gouges and run a few inches, but look HUGE to me. I guess I could say they are "battle scars" that I get because I drive the car, not just look keep it as a "garage queen". Is there any way to "buff" these out? I understand there will always be evidence of the crime, but if I can minimize the damage, what would be the best process?

there are places that you can send your wheel to that will repair them...
other than that, it depends on how deep they are- if really eighth of an inch, not likely that you will be able to get them out easily.
maybe an internet search?

you could also try some ideas usually used on the car body- some ideas to check out are at:

you should be aware that these ideas will remove any remaining clear coat that is on your wheels, but if they are scratched thats probably not too much of a concern anymore!

Thanks for the suggestion. You're right about the clear coat, it's right through. I was hoping there was something I could do to hide the damage. I guess the wheel will come off when I put it away this winter and I'll ship it to the manufacturer for repair. It'll be a reminder to be careful for the rest of the summer.
