I only have my passenger seat connected by 2 bolts. I take it out several times a week and only put it in when I need to drive someone around. Right now I have my door panels out as well. Of course, my trunk is completely gutted as well. At one point I was well over 200 pounds lighter than stock (with 4.77 gearing!) and boy did my car haul ass.

My S2k weighed 2760 with a nearly full tank of gas and everything in it. For autox(no spare/tools and 1/4 tank) it weighs 2700lbs. Add my weight of 130lbs and it's still pretty fun.

How much weight does "trunk gutting" save outside of the spare tires and tools?

I just did a corner balance. And the whole car with me(145lbs) in it, half tank of gas, supersprint exhaust, prodrives gc07's, and ray lugs, spare tire and tools out, and 1 amp in the back.

Total Weight: 2852 lbs.

[QUOTE=RED MX5,Dec 6 2006, 02:51 PM]I use to weigh a little over 200 lbs., but now I'm down to 152, and believe me, there has been a very real "performance improvement."

I love weight reduction. I notice a performance difference when the GF is riding shotgun and she's only 125 lbs. I can imagine that shedding another 125 lbs off the car's weight would notice a similar gain! the AC is something I'd remove once I've had this car long enough that it's not worth much to resell and I might as well keep it. AC weighs up to 50 lbs with all the components!

Given that weight makes this much difference I'd imagine I'd have an advantage against another stock AP1 if the driver was a larger dude since I only weigh 135 lbs.
