if i was to store it, is there any instructions on how to do so
like a thread or anything that tell me correct procedures in doing so...

Why aren't you taking it with you? I know Berkeley is ultra-liberal, but they haven't outlawed gasoline engines there, have they?

I went to London for 6 months this time last year. I had some of the same questions.

I ended up just asking a friend of mine to take it out for a spin once every two weeks. Didn't have any problems other than him spilling some Starbucks coffee on the passenger seat .

I think he went a month without driving it once without any battery problems.

If you can't find anyone to drive it for you, I'd suggest changing the oil, putting it up on mounts, using some fuel stabilizer and disconnecting the battery. Be sure to put the top up and leave the windows cracked. A car cover would be a must too.

This good advice but I wouldn't put the car up on mounts. Leaving the suspension unloaded is not a good thing. Better the pump up the tires (40-45psi), drive the each tire onto a thick piece of carpet remnant. Also, plug your air cleaner intake (little animals). If you're away for many months, silicone spray all the rubber boots under the car. There are 6 (4 on the drive half shafts and 2 on the steer rods.)

Good idea....don't take your car to Berkeley. I've seen way too many dings on cars from people that can't parallel park, and too many impatient pedestrians darting out into traffic (causing accidents).

As an alternative to not having your car at all, why don't you find somebody in El Cerrito/Richmond/North Berkeley who is willing to let you store your car in their garage (this is pretty common) for a small fee? That way, you can still drive it and it's only a quick bus ride away. No storage worries!

Also...if you're interested, you might want to PM moonpie here on the east coast. He's traded in his Spa for a lil' more family-oriented (but zippy all the same) WRX and is trying to unload accessories.

He's down to his good as new California Car Cover - Stormweave. He's asking $100 (Comes with carry bag and cable w/lock).

...sorry to bug in, but thought it might be of consideration & just helpin out a bud.
