Current 6-speed or sequential electronic tranny?

It would help those people who say that this car is bad for daily driving, as they at least wouldn't have to shift all the time (well, at least they wouldn't have to put the clutch in and out.)

...Most vehicles that have sequential trans do have a manual actuated clutch...
Ian, I think you're wrong about that. Yes, motorcycles have manual clutches and sequential shifters, but SMG cars ditch the manual clutch. The whole point is to speed up (and automate) the entire shifting sequence.
This is right off the Audi website. Admittedly this is just one example, but I thought this was the whole point of the thing...:
Conventional manual gearboxes operate with just one clutch. To change gear, the driver steps on the clutch pedal and interrupts the power flow. This is a prerequisite because when changing gear a different pair of gears (ratios) is selected in the gearbox - and this cannot take place under load.
The DSG direct-shift gearbox prevents this power interruption. In idealized terms, it offers the function of two manual gearboxes in one. Its technology though is combined in a single compact component.
Unlike conventional manual gearboxes, the direct-shift gearbox has a two-part transmission shaft comprising an outer hollow shaft and an inner shaft. The inner transmission shaft serves the 1st , 3rd and 5th gears, the outer shaft is for gears 2, 4 and 6. A twin multi-plate clutch transfers engine power permanently to one of the two shafts.
When driving, one gear is always engaged and a second pre-selected. When the gearshift point is reached, one clutch segment opens in a flash while the other closes. The driver therefore hardly notices the gearshift process. This uninterrupted, efficient transfer of power enables particularly sporty driving.

Considering the number of time I shift more than one gear at a time (tell me YOU don't pull 5-3 downshifts on the highway.
) SMG would kinda suck on this car. I would be afraid of hitting it one too many times and over-reving. I love the clutch pedal and all the control it gives me to vary the car. I would have a hard time driving fast through corners without all three pedals at my disposal. Leave me my 6-speed row-box.
