Yeah, I've been gathering details on the tire thing from S2000 owners, and its looking less like a good deal the more I learn. I have most dealers waiving the destination charge, but I'm convinced white is the rarest color out there now - there's only one within 400 miles of me!

negotiate 'out the door' prices so you dont get any hidden fees. it's simpler

Agreed on the out the door pricing. What I've heard of working well in the past is send multiple faxes to multiple dealers stating EXACTLY what you want . . . tell them you are going to buy from the dealer who comes back with the best dael and mention the other dealers you are contacting at well. then you can combat offers.

Can you post the 'tires for life" bait-and switch deal? I'd like to see that in writing. As some of the more astute posters said earlier, they are highly suspicous about this offer. I'd be willing to bet that you will have to meet several conditions first, and even then, if you really look close, you'll even pay MORE for those tires than it you bought them at a regular tire store. Be very wary!

No one wanted to give me hard details on the tires, so I decided to just concentrate on price of the car.

My best out the door is 31,450, but there is one dealership that I will happen to pass by next week that has the car I want, and they want 31,850 plus half destination. If they waive the destination charge, I'll be driving an S2000 home, otherwise, I'll put in an order for a Feb delivery.

$30,200 is not a bad price at all for a spanking new S.
