Well, now, let's just calm down there, all you pilgrims.

If there's a tether on the 06 gas caps, maybe that means they've eliminated that little metal pocket on the door that the 05 and earlier caps sit in. Didja ever think of that? Huh? And if that's what they did, the tether's gotta weigh less than the pocket, right?

So...(hang on, I've got to think...Nope, can't think of one possible reason to get a gas cap cap)...anyway, maybe the tether thing isn't so weird as y'all think. HPH

The first picture shows both the tether and the cap holder. A lot of other brands of cars have a gas cap tether. You'd think that car manufacturers would relish the idea that car owners lose their caps all the time, necessitating a trip to their parts counter.

The '06 has the tether AND the holder. I noticed it the other day when I filled up for the first time. It's new to the '06 because my '05 only had the holder.

Yes, they do hold more pressure, however, this is assuming that the S2000 cooling system would actually develop more pressure that needs to be held.

The "ripcord" makes the 06 s2000 the fastest of all model years -On my car it also negates the DBW lag that is oh so prevalent!
