Default Cutting off resonator

I read about cutting off the resonator and replacing it with a 2.25" pipe to make the stock exhaust sound more "gruntier" or 350z'ish lol. I was just wondering if there were any drawbacks to cutting off the resonator for sound.

I just did this the other day, if you do it yourself make sure you align everything right and cut out the correct size pipe or else you have to do it all over again and it's PITA. What the mod does is basically makes your car sound like a shitty civic to tell you the truth. My car has a nasty rasp around 3-4000RPM but I kinda like...even though it sounds like a civic.

i'd save the time and the guesswork and just buy a used exhaust like an Invidia or an HKS

I had mine done at a muffler shop over two years ago for $50 and I think it sounds good paired up with my AEM V2. I have never heard any raspiness or buzziness. Maybe my intake drowns it out but I doubt it. I say go ahead and do it. You won't be disappointed. There is also no drone on the highway.

I did it before I went with exhaust. Make sure whoever does it does a good weld job and it will sound GOOD. OEM, just louder. No raspiness in mine and probably the best 40 bucks I spent mod wise.
