yes. lowered on stiff suspension with splitter, full exhaust and full bucket. basically pretty much everything that could doom it being a daily for an owner.

Still fetch family and the odd client.

here's how it looks put together:

i sold my DD, 2003 honda accord...i sold it to get rid of some debt, big mistake! im unable to purchase another DD because of some odd reasons...

now i dont have a bigger car to carry my bikes, and have to daily the s2000

its a horrible experience!! dont daily the S especially if you care about it...mine had almost 0 blemishes..and now i got hardly noticable but still there road chips, scratches and ive completely ruined the underside of my front bumper pulling in and out of a steep driveway at work...you cant see it, but i know its there and it kills me...also got a small half inch rip in my soft top...this could have all been prevented if i had another car...not to mention 2K unnecessary miles..

also, the s2000 is VERY, VERY unforgiving if you usually drive in a comfortable and lazy manner.. im not talking sloppy, but in the s2000, you have to be very vigilant, not only with your own actions, but with the drivers around you. most dont see such a tiny car, especially the boys in the big trucks and SUVs..

also the unnecessary wear and tear...i bought my S for the weekends, but unfortunately things didnt pan out the way i wanted them to

ill be purchasing the daily driver soon hopefully around christmas time, by then ill have another 2K miles, at a grand total of 104K miles...f@#k!

I daily'd my AP1 for 8 years and have no regrets whatsoever (except when I had to haul something big)
Its simply a matter of how much you're willing to sacrifice.

In response to NobleAccord - the rock chips and little scrapes, etc were all part of the experience and something that can be fixed if you have half a mind to do so.
For me, it didn't matter because I already knew when I got the car that it was going to be a DD and it performed those duties beautifully and every day on my commute to work I had a smile on my face.

Psssh, you gotta own that wear and those miles as a badge of honor, man. When I am showing my 2003 in 2043 at the "Vintage Sports Car Show for Cars Actually Powered By Miniature Explosions that Don't Even Come With AutoPilot" I'm going to be PROUD of all the scruffiness and such on the car, because it means I enjoy the fookin' thing. What's cooler, "here's my shiny 3k mile example that's sat in my garage for 10 years" or "check out the chip in the windshield from the day I took the hottest blonde in the office to lunch, and here's some scrapes I got driving home from work during Snowpocalypse and this little ding I got in the parking lot while on a 700 mile road trip and..."

I've mentioned elsewhere that we tow a 4x8 trailer with the S2000. Now, got a second trailer, a Malone Microsport, for the 21.5' kayak, and I see there's an accessory bike-rack kits for it. So, I'm likely to get those and dump the bike rack that plugs into the hitch receiver, as the latter just looks to put odd loads on the receiver (very old road bikes, low 20's weight each, but the rack is heavy). IIRC the trailer weighs 197LB.

Just crossed 9 years with the S, daily-driven the entire time by myself & now by the wife, 60K miles, couldn't care less about dinged resale value, she's having a ball driving it!

It really depends on your lifestyle, and what you plan to do with your car outside of taking it to work and back. If you haul things every once in awhile you can probably get away with asking some friends to help you out.

My s2k is my single and only car, but my DD is my bicycle haha. I live in the city, and if I want to go anywhere somewhat close by I just either bike or take an uber / lyft. Know that commuting or using it as a pimary source of transportation means youll have to keep it safer as well. Alarms etc, and being worried about the occasional dents. If thats all fine for you, then I'm sure it'll be ok. I also know some people can't stand DD'ing a stickshift in gridlock traffic but its a sacrifice that I put up with when I was commuting with my integra in school. If you love the car enough, you'll make it work.

As for the passenger situation, it works perfectly for me. I'm a little selfish and hate using my car to transport friends or take to social outings with other people. With the s2k no one will ever bother you to be the DD Hope this helps.

PS: ikea trips are depressing with the s2k... you can probably buy a set of plates and maybe some utensils haha

+1 on the Ikea thing.

Daily it, it's not that bad. Worst case rent a U-Haul truck for the day if you're going to need to move a lot of stuff.

Home Despot and Lowes both now offer pickup or van rentals, by the day or the hour. Very cheap. No reason you have to use for hauling stuff bought from them. Can just as easily use for Ikea or other larger items. Costco TV, whatever.

So no need to have a daily that can fill that occasional niche. Even if S is not your daily, this rental option maybe means your daily doesn't have to be an suv.

If ownership of an S2000 keeps you out of Ikea and restricts you to real furniture that has to be delivered, consider it a win/win.
