really? that is surprising. My car spends a lot of time on what I think are fairly rough roads and crossing rail road tracks.....not too mention many track miles. I do drive with my hardtop on a lot I wonder if that is keeping the soft top latches from wearing out as fast or something?
Do they have really bad roads in hawaii? Take it back to the dealer and make them fix it!

 

Metal Clasps rattle on mine due to the high amount of vibrations from the motor when downshifting

 

Ha! Rattles? Here in Calgary we have some pretty bad roads, and my car is a year-round daily driver. it's an 01 with 39k (kilometres). Both roof latches rattle all the time...squeaks from dash under steering column...also from radio area...of course the rear view mirror vibrates...also a rattle over some bumps in driver's door. I just ignore 'em, cause with the top down they all disappear immediately.

 

MY04, 10k miles, top rattles but only when up, on bumpy roads, in the cold. When the temperature gets past 55F most of the rattles disappear except on the bumpiest of roads. With the top down, not a squeak from anywhere in the chassis, it's amazing.

 

I get some loud cracks from the roof liner occasionally when I hit a bump (usually if the thing isn't in perfect position). Those are disconcerting! I hear some small jiggling much of the time. Often the top doesn't retract all the way.
