I also normally shift between 4k-5k RPM. Seems to be a popular range.

I shift at 3k until my engine warms up, then I shift at 3.5k. Sometimes when I'm feeling really crazy, I bring it up to 5.5k, then I freak out and slow it down again. This one time ...

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who'd ya'll sell your balls to???

I don't even understand this question. Shift where you want when you want. Personally, I shift at 6k til it lets me get to redline, then never hit the next gear 'til I have to! (your car will do 125 in 5th just fine-perfect for passing)

3-5k. If I feel like having a little fun I rev it higher. I don't hit 9k that often doing daily activities.

Assuming the car is warm, I find the smoothest shifts between 5-6K going from 1st to 3rd. Once in third it's vtec until I reach a reasonable cruising speed. Does anyone else notice you feel the vtec pull the most in 3rd, or is it just me?

Does it depend on your max rpm?

I know s2ks rev high so maybe you'd want to shift at 4-5k as opposed to 3-4k...

Any truth to this?

The AP2 manual gives speeds at which you should shift to balance performance and gas mileage. It works out to be about 4k.

15, 25, 40, 47, and 52 mph

I change gears at about 3,000 to 3,500 until the engine is warm, and then I change gears whenever I feel like it.

damn i feel like i'm driving the car like an old lady compared to the rest of you. I normally shift around 3K unless i'm trying to get somewhere fast. The engine doesn't feel like it's bogging but everytime it goes beyond 3K it gets so loud that i feel it's the proper time to shift. For the guys and gals that shift about 5K... what's ur gas mileage looking like?? I normally get b/w 23-25mpg.
