Damage to my S2k when changing tires!!!
Anyways, the weather is warming up quite a bit here in vancouver so i decided i would swap my winter tires our for my summers. I bring it to a pretty big tire shop, Volco, they have 4 stores here in the lower mainland and thought they would know what they're doing...Anyways, I drop off my car, walk around a bit and decide to take a look at the work being done. I wak out and see my car is up on 3 jacks. Two are properly placed on the jacking points for the front of the car but the third one is right underneath my trunk area. I think to myself I don't recall there being a jacking point there and open my trunk. To my horror, my trunk is all out of place as the jack has nicely dented my friggen' baggage tray. I quickly rush the store manager to my car and ask him what the hell is going on. He apologizes, assures me they will take car of all charges and says to me, "Gee sir, I don't know what to tell you. In 16 years, I have never seen anything like this...' ..Well no $%&#$^&#%^ jerkoff. Turns out some dickwad who didn't know what he was doing jacked my car up. Well now, I have damage to my undercarriage and now my toos won't sit in properly as the inside is all deformed now.
I rushed down to the nearest dealership and asked them what kind of damage am I looking at. Turns out the baggage tray isn't that much. (160 CAD). BUT, the labour will be killer as our cars have unibody construction..The autobody has to cut through the welds , blah blah blah and then reweld everything...OR they can just dent it out...GRRRR..I don't know what to do guys..Any advice???
PS...For those of you who live in the lower mainland, STAY AWAY from Volvo in Coquitlam..they are a bunch of numnuts...
