Very small spider crack... I don't think it'll spread but of course, I notice it and it's an eyesore.

Has any replaced the front windshield yet? Just curious what it might cost down the road.

TIA

loki,

this was discussed a while ago, in this thread:
http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=1298

Here's what I had to say:

...I got a small but annoying chip in my windshield, so I got it filled free (they pay my deductible). So far I would rate it a complete success; you can only see a trace if you know where to look and get very close to the surface.

While I was having the chip filled, I had them fill a small (pencil tip size) 'crater' where another rock had hit but not left a chip. What used to be a white mark is now less noticeable.

So if your insurance covers it, I would say give glass repair a try.

Ted

although i didn't get my winshield replaced, i did have the cracked fixed. it was about the size of a quarter. now it's just the size of about 4mm and is guaranteed not to spread. it still bugs me though. went through insurance and didn't pay a dime.

I got a chip and a crack from a stone that flew up off the road from a passing car.

I contacted my insurance company and they said that if it was in the "swept area" of the windshield, that it couldn't be repaired, only replaced.

I told them that I wanted genuine Honda glass (not that it's any better, just wanted it to say "Honda" like the stock windshield) and they agreed to let my dealer replace it. The dealer ordered the windshield and sub-contracted the installation to a local windshield repair place who did an excellent job. I paid my insurance deductible and the insurance paid the rest. I think that it was about $400-$500, but I'd have to check my records.

Glass coverage is good, especially on these cars. I've got two small craters both within the diameter of a nickel from two seperate rocks. No speading and fortunately they are on the passenger side so I don't have to look through them all the time.
