this is my first post so i hope i'm not harping on a beatin topic. i recently sold my 2000 tl with the plans to get an s2k. while ive thougt about possibly waiting for a 6-speed tl-s, or even a wrx (i know that topic has been gone over quite a lot.) im pretty sure i want to stick with my original plan.

so as for my ques... a dealer in my area has an 01' on the lot; since winter is coming and the 02's are on their way, i think i should be able to get myself a good deal. as current owners, do you think the upgrades are worth the extra $ i would prolly have to spend for the 02?

I decided on the '02 based on what most said about the glass rear window and instant depreciation hit. And yes I'm getting the '02 for slightly less than MSRP. So it kind of depends what deal you actually can get for a new '01.

 

Definetly wait for the 2002 model.

 

deandorsey, I was faced with the same choice six weeks ago. Since I am leasing my S2000 and the depreciation is not an issue, I ordered a 2001 model. I did not like the size of the glass window on the 2002 and also didn't like the "tacked on" looks of the new speakers. I didn't like the looks of the bright accents in the interior.

Much too much has been said of the rear window. The plastic window is NO BIG DEAL. The paint job on the body is harder to take care of properly than the plastic rear window.

All in all, I am VERY happy with my 2001 S2000 and certainly glad that I did not order a 2002 model. I had to wait almost five weeks to get the 2001 as it is. Well worth the wait, however.

Enjoy your S2000 regardless of the model year. Don't get the WRX, TL or CL type S. You'll be sorry if you don't get the S2000.

If you can get the 01' for $30,000, get it. If not, wait for 02'. BE sure the get one of the new colors (Silver or Blue)

 

Yeah i think you should definately wait for the 02'!!
