Try to get the 03 for lower at another dealer, but use their 02' price to kinda play it. Say you probably would go with the 02' at Dealer A, unless Dealer B can give you a good price on an 03'. From what I've heard, 02's and 03's are virtually the same, so tell them that you have no problems settling for an 02', when in fact you want the 03' (just don't tell them that).

Get whichever one is the color you want. The only thing I'd worry about on the '02 is if it's been used on too many test drives by folks who want to rev it too fast for the break-in period.

'02 has depreciated one year for trade-in or lease residual values. Book value is already down. If you are buying and keeping car for a long time, make the dealer give you a really good deal on a brand new, non-demo '02. Any price increase for '03? Sometimes 5% increase. Depending on your region, you can get good deals on rag-top roadster in winter. Four wheel drives are the big winter buy. Also buy at the end of the month. The dealers do not want to carry the inventory over. I took delivery on last day of month and got my best deal after much shopping.

Good luck!

I got my 02 last week for 31,400. There is no difference between the 02 and 03 as far as I know. Try to beat them down as far as you can. The dealer wants to sell. Tell them you have no problem waiting for an 03 if they won't come down on the 02 price.

I like the idea of no mileage like 6 or less miles. The 02 has 14 miles is that to much ? If I get the 03 I want to see it get off the truck and no one will drive it. I will put the 1st tank of gas. Hope it has no miles 1 or .5. Also I like the darker silver on the 03 but the 02 light silver is nice to. What one will hold up in the long run ?Thanks for the replys.

I think 10-15 miles is normal for an new not driven S2000. I have never heard of any new car with less than 2 miles.

My new 03 had 14 miles. I think they are tested in some way to make sure they don't have any obvious problems.

Not public knowledge (and never will be) the 03 will have less TSB's. The only change (i think) is a sway ber revision. and colors, of course.
