Dealer experience, happy ending!
This is mainly for those in the northern NJ area, and specifically for those whom I've urged to see Pat Dougherty at Madison Honda for purchase of their 2001's.
I received a call from Madison Honda a few weeks ago, informing me that my silver/red, originally slated for a January delivery, was now expected at any moment. Sure enough a week later, another call saying my car was in, could I please come take delivery, and oh by the way, the salesman who had agreed to sell to me at MSRP (Pat Dougherty) was "no longer in their employ". So of course my first thought is that they're now going to d1ck me around on the price, charge me $3000 for the pinstripe, etc.
Good news is that they're sticking with the original promise of MSRP with no dealer attached options. Only problem now is taking delivery on a non-rainy day, hopefully this Thursday will be it.
So anyone who contacted Pat Dougherty on my recommendation (I know there were a few) can rest assured that Madison Honda is an honorable place of business.
Happy driving!

I'm glad to hear that you are having good luck with the dealership. I just hope you didn't have to remind them of the MSRP deal.
I'm picking up my s2000 on the 30th of this month, and I'm hoping for a non-rainy day as well...*crossing fingers* only time will tell.

Silver/red is the best color combo! I heartily agree lovemys2k. Personally I think the red is gorgeous, but I've owned other red Honda's, and sorry if this is news to anyone, but the red will fade and you'll end up with an orange S2K eventually.
And yes Schatten I did not have to remind them of the MSRP deal, although they did fill out the sales slip improperly, showing the MSRP as $32,740 at which time I reminded them that was MSRP + destination charge, to which they agreed. Who knows, may have been a ploy to see if I really knew what the MSRP was, I'll never really know. Just shows how it pays to be informed.
