Hey Guys,
I have placed a deposit with a dealer all the way in PA waiting for march delivery. Are there any honest dealers in LI/NYC area that offer MSRP? Also, I gave my dealer a $100 deposit with a check. Is it hard to get those back?( he said it is refundable).

It all depends on what you got in writing. That seems like a pretty small deposit, as these things go. Again, refundability depends on what you got in writing. The bottom line . . . Get it in writing!

 

Worse case scenario, sell your spot back to the dealer or another prospective buyer. The dealer should be able to give you back the money without any hassel.

As far as places to go:

Try either, Hillside Honda in Queens or Honda City in Levittown, Long Island. By all means avoid going to Neil Honda in Hempstead!

 

While it is definitely better to get it in writing, an oral contract is binding and if the salesman says the deposit is refundable, hold him/her to their word.
