I've added this thread to my growing list of "bad dealer" threads. I save them for when someone from a dealer registers here and complains about what a bad rap we give dealers and how hard we are on them.

I suggest you get them to make good on the damaged valve cover - YES, it is DAMAGED. Have them replace it or put it back to "like new" condition.
Get that 5W20 AND filter out of there. If you trust them (which would be a bit of a stretch at this point), have them do it. Find yourself another dealer if you can't do your own work. Lodge a formal letter of complaint to the dealership OWNER. Send him a link to this thread. If you suspect them of screwing with you, NAME NAMES!

Once you get the problems resolved, don't EVER go back. They are NOT deserving of any S2000 business and for you, probably no future Honda business.

I would be more pissed about the mileage then the oil and valve cover paint!!!

I think one of the best things you can do is print out this thread and show it to them, and let them know that everything they do will be publicly reported on this website. Get your stuff fixed, and don't go back there!

You shouldn't have to, but people really need to get it clear before they turn the keys over to the service dept, just what weight of oil should be put in the car. (You might have done this and it still turned out bad.) Also verify they will use the correct filter. If the service writer or at least the service manager doesn't know the answer right off the bat that should give you second thoughts. They are a Honda dealer for goodness sakes.

What's with the solvent? Were they cleaning your engine? I've never heard that one before.

You clearly deserve a brand new valve cover out of this. It's not going to put them out of business, and they already admitted that they caused the damage. There is no excuse for it. They have no leg to stand on.

Just checked the invoice. They have 10-30 as the oil but the little sticker said 5-20 in handwriting. Sounds like it was 5-20.

Also, no mention of rear diff fluid change. Isn't that standard @ 30k?

Blaks2k - Pls PM me with the name of the dealer if you don't want to put it out here. Since we are both in the DC metro area, I would like to know which one it is!!! Thanks...

I can't believe the dealer didn't know to put 30W in the car. Amazing...
