Sounds like you need some dtachable key rings:

I have this ring from Troika: http://www.troika.de/en/produkte/detail.php?id=24849

Minimalist design and I can easily detach my car key, fob, house keys, bike key, etc, when I don't need them. Lets me take just the keys I need and when I drop my car off, very easily take off my other important keys without losing a ring. Probably the best ring I've ever owned.

I typically have three rings attached - 1 for the car, 1 for the fob, and one for my house & bike. I can leave the car key in the car and just take my fob to lock the car - very simple and easy.

Of course, these are cool too - LED lights in them.. but where can I buy these buggers?

I do something similar to that. I have a single detachable ring with my car key/fob and all my other keys on the other. I can just pop the car key off whenever I need to leave it somewhere. Takes 2 seconds and I have all my other important keys (house, work, etc)

Sorry to hear about the hassle. I'd be raising holy hell with the dealer if it were me. I get grumpy about that kind of stuff easy. "How do you lose the keys to the car you were working on?"

Yes. They have a single part number to do this too. It sells for 500 + labor.

Ohhhh good I hope it costs more...Im gonna buy the most expensive dead bolts I can get from Home Depot, and find the most expensive lock smith i can find to pick my locks. They are going to pay, the service manager is a very very cool guy and the parts manager is also a great guy, Its a shame that this has happened.
