Hi All,

I'm in the market for a '01 S2000, I have found one with 5500 miles on it selling for $28K, red with black interior. My question is has anyone ever thought of changing the plastic rear window for a glass one? Can it be done? Like the '02 model? Thanks for your advice in advanced.

 

You can do a search on this, but I understand it is possible, but the whole top has to be replaced. Parts + labor could run you about $2000. If that's the case, why not just get a MY2002.

 

I was just curious, if it will cost that much, I will just get the MY2002. Thanks for the reply.

 

With so many documented transmission problems from MY2000-2001, I would be suspicious of any low milage, used S2000 from MY2000-2001. Glad that you've decided to go for MY2002. Sure it doesn't "gaurantee" anything, but it should reduce the chance you get the tranny issues.
