The Mugen and Comptech come pretty close to what you are looking for. Unfortunately I haven't heard an exhaust that doesn't drone somewhere. It happens most in the 3-4k range.

The Fujitsubo is another good choice, as you have listed. I would stick with Mugen, Comptech or Fujitsubo.

Or, if you want good sound, very lightweight and more hp, go with the Amuse.

I like the Mugen and Fujitsubo, but I don't like the fact that both are not a whole lot lighter than stock, and I don't like the way the Fujitsubo looks, but it sounds great!

Spugen is Str8 up LOUD. I hear The Fujitsubo is pretty quiet. Spugens got quality customer service though...

Given that the opinion of spugen is "str8 up Loud" - it looks to have the smallest muffler of all these listed.

So is it silly for me to look at canister and resonator sizes to determine a general idea on how it may sound?

I would say go with Fujitsubo or the Blitz. I'd never pay $600 for an exhaust system made from aluminized steel. It's just going to rust inside of a few years. Then again, I wouldn't spend $1200 on an exhaust either unless it was titanium. I've seen pics of the Blitz exhaust in the gallery and it's not a bad looking exhaust. The price is right too. There was a groubbuy months back for the Fujitsubo for like $700. Good buy.

Supersprint
Comptech

In general a larger muffler and/or resonator will be quieter due to the amount of sound absorbing material used.

FIRST try taking the resonator out... It MAY be just what your looking for ... 20.00 to have it taken out... If you don't like it no big deal.. If you do ,,, I just saved you at least 800.00 !!!!!!!

Another vote for Fuji. Sounds great, just slightly louder than stock, deep tone, absolutely no drone at any RPM, supposedly worth a few HP, slightly lighter than OE, all stainless, great build quality, perfect fit. I got mine on a group buy at Bulletproof for $700, but even at $795, a great deal IMO.
