Decisions...
Are tuning of the ignition and/or fuel necessary for the two supercharger kits out of the box? I still haven't decide whether to get gears and stay NA or FI yet and I swear this money is burning a whole in my pocket. I REALLY want to upgrade the car, but I don't want to make the wrong decision and regret it afterwards.
I've done a lot of reading and it seems that using a supercharger produces a lot of heat (bad), vibration (bad), and of course theres always the chance of our high compression car not liking the boost (bad) or running too lean (bad).
On the other hand if I go with the gears and I/E I run the risk of not being satisfied with the performance and I promised I myself when I bought this car that I wouldn't do any modifications that would compromise the car's driveability...ie...high rpm cruising on the highway.
So, I would appreciate any inciteful and intelligent suggestions/arguments from you guys. I love my car and it feels great, I just want to make it faster without compromising reliability and without spending a fortune on it. Thanks in advance.

The answer to your question, at least with respect to the Vortech unit, is yes. The kits tend to run moderately to frighteningly lean out of the box, and I would recommend some kind of tuning to get your AFR w/in a safe range. Figure at least another $1K into the cost of your Vortech budget.
As for Comptech, I can't say, but maybe an owner will chime in here.
And with turbo....well, just do a search and you'll get a feel for how much post-install tuning is necessary.
