And more to the point: Honda won't sell any more than it manufactures and distributes. Of my two local dealers, the larger is allocated 4 per year and the other 3 per year. The dealerships are otherwise filled with Hondas. Honda is just not giving the car much priorty in its lineup.
S2000's are very uncommon in my area. You see perhaps 60-70 C4, C5 and C6 Corvettes on the street for every S2000 (I am not exaggerating). But Chevrolet cranks out Corvettes like hotcakes and, despite their pricey-ness, people buy them like hotcakes. It's all about production and marketing . . . . and there's "no flies on" the bottom-level, base Corvette's performance.
As a shopper for an S2000 the situation is not at all encouraging, but there are lots of other options.
Hey bankstreet, if you're still reading this, just post the links to the pages. I could see it that way. I think you didn't post the image link - instead, you posted the page link using the IMG button.
S2000 CRs were finally released to the public this weekend at the Acura ALMS / Indy Car Race at Mid Ohio..
There were many Honda employees wearing this S2k CR hat to help promote it.
3 S2k CRs were parked by Turn 1 quite a ways back and were fenced off from quite a distance away.
I managed to snap a few pics, but they are blurry... so sorry about that...
Pictures don't do the car justice.... everyone has their interrpretation on what "rice" is, but the CR isn't rice... you have to see it in person to appreciate it...
Nope... couldn't... they parked them so far away from the public that we weren't allowed near them... Press gets a hold of them on Monday.. they are taking them out to the track for reviews.
I saw them at Mid Ohio also. They didn't look bad in person. I tried to load the pics last night but I just got red X's. Anyways here is a link there are three pics in all.
