Would you get cars in August, which is to say _before_ the Sept 8 "Homecoming"?

Just asking.
No I don't think we are going to get the cars before that date but if we do I will defiantly keep everyone posted.

1. Stiffer springs
2. More dampening
3. Stiffer sway bars
4. Stickier RE070 tires
5. More downforce (a wing that works)
6. Lighter weight
7. Stiffened chassis (cross-bracing)
8. Quicker Steering ratio (may use the AP1 steering?)
So basically half the "new" things on the CR are just things my '00 model already has (and that Honda moved away from in later models)? I already have the stiffer suspension, stickier tires, and quicker steering ratio. And most of the other things (like the crazy body stuff, massive wing, and lack of A/C) are things I wouldn't want anyhow. I'll just stick with the original!

I don't think anyone has confirmed whether or not they are using the ap1 pieces on the CR. My guess is no..... A/C is an option not a delete for CR btw.

The CR is built for 3 purposes. Performance, cost reduction, and to deplete the old inventory of parts.

Depletion of old inventory: AP1 Springs, shocks, sway bars, steering rack, hardtop ($2500), NSX-R tires & NSX-R shift knob.

Cost reduction: Remove AC hardware (-$1000), radio & speakers. ($-500). Remove soft top and associated hardware (Approx. -$2000). Cheaper wheels (Less aluminum) compared to the current wheels. Remove leather and give you less expensive cloth/Alcantar surface (-$200). Save logistics on painting different colors for the hard top. Honda chose Henry Ford's Model-T philosophy for color selection - "You can have any color you want as long as it is black".

Performance: Aero kit , wing, and tunnage cover ($2000), cross bracing (+$100). All other equipment has been mentioned in previous categories and was put there for cost reduction and inventory depletion. Yet the marketing team sells it as a performance upgrade so they can charge you more.

Price Summary: +2500 for hardtop, -$1000 for AC, -$500 for radio, -$2000 for soft top, -$200 for no leather, +$2000 for all body kit,+$100 for bracing.

TOTAL PRICE DIFFERENCE FROM STANDARD S2000 = +$900

Honda expected MSRP for the CR: $2000-$3000 over standard S2000 for the no AC/ no radio unit. Hey, its a steal.........by Honda. For a bonus, you get the unique uglyness, which is of course Priceless.

Suckers can go line up now and get gouged by dealers. Or wait one year when there will be fire sales on the CR. Standard S2000 are now selling for $28,500 in Texas.

buy it for it's collector value. the S is a relatively rare car as it is.
imagine 30 years from now, most of us will be in our sixsties. many of us will want to relive the joy and excitement of when we had that awsome sports car when we were younger.
we search and search looking for that one S that was just like the one we had while dating next door nikki in our twenties. we find some here and there, but none that really triggers anything. ..this one has too many rust, that one was in a bad accident, this one smells like doo doo, the other one is a former track ho....
and then BAM! there it is... an 08 CR in black with only 25K miles on her. one of only 1500 made and it's tripple black. only 300 were sold in this combo.

in this day and age (2037) when even a kia has self park, navi, heated seats, electronic ride control, drive by wire and bluetooth everything we have a chance to buy a car that brings back the thrill of slamming through the gears using your own hands. feeling the back end stepping loose and the only stability control system is your hands and feet.
jump on it in second gear and listen to 2..4..6..8..9 THOUSAND revolutions per minute. you catch the redline blink with the corner of your eye, clutch in, 2-3 shift, clutch out FAST and hard on the gogogo pedal! VVRRAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMM here we go agian, now this time in 3rd! 5 thousand...6 thousand.... 7 thousand..... OH NO!!!!! cherries in the rear view mirror. the popo wants to stop our fun but he cant take away the excitement of top down motoring and a screaming 2.0L powerplant with a trans as sharp as a brand new kitchen knife.

I doubt you can hit 9000 rpm in a (stock) '08 CR without blowing engine.
