The 2.2 is the better motor, why on earth would you want to do that? <---coming from an AP1 owner

Just wondering why ap2 owners who envy the 9k can't destroke? If 9k is what makes the ap1 such a gem/masterpiece...then why don't ppl do it?
Why... when it's so much easier/cheaper to just go out and buy a well-kept AP1 (and they're out there) if that's what one prefers???

This question is nothing more than a slightly different angle of the same old AP1/AP2 pissing match.

I've said it many times on these boards... There are differences between various model years of the S2000 (I know, I've driven them). While the differences are noticeable, they're rather insignificant relative to the differences between the S2000 any any other similar car one might compare it to.

Pick the one you like, buy it, drive it, and stop wasting your energy justifying your purchase to others that chose different than you.

hey for you guys that rev up to 9k, why did you buy an ap1 ecu instead of an ems or some other stand alone? I'm just wondering because won't the fuel management for an ap1, not be good for an ap2 engine? And wouldn't you be able to pull more power out of an ems?
