did i get a good deal?
Not an OEM Battery and horn is missing. Also, rear valence is painted (Maybe front grill/fake vents too).
I would stay as far away as possible, because it is VERY shady with all these weird things.

uhh i say walk away.
1. i already see swirl marks on a supposedly new paint job.
2. what happened to the airbox?
3. the weatherstripping between the bumper and hood is missing.
just seems kinda sketchy to me that a car with such low mileage would need to be repainted and some of the parts are missing.

That paint looks terrible.
I bought my 03 S2000 two years ago with 6600mi out the door with 100,000 Honda Certified warranty (not that its worth much) thrown in for $25,500.
But you are in L.A. my brother lives out there and is always complaining about the markup on cars out there.

You do not repaint the whole car because the bumper color does not match. Most bumpers do not match the rest of the car because they are plastic, same as the mirrors. The paint color comes out a little different because of that. Any way run away from this car or offer them something like 20k for it. Repaints kill the value of a car, If I see a car at the auction with a whole repaint I won't even look at to purchase.

I'm not one of the fanatics on this board that thinks the s2k is a ferrari and should only be bought in original mint condition, but this cars history and price do not match.
Again, the main thing to remember when shopping is to not let your emotion and desire for the S make you buy something that your brain and logic normally wouldn't have you buy. This car has a way of sucking you in after a test drive. Another thing to consider is how much (if any) of the factory warranty is left? This car obviously has had "performance" mods done to it. This probably means it was not babied. Even though it has low mileage, you never know if the previous owner launched the car day and night for the time they had it.

couldn't agree more with Jsmply. Except I would go a step further and say that I wouldn't even bother wasting my time having this car inspected. For all the reasons that Jsmply gave in his post, and more, I wouldn't buy this car even with a Honda dealerships
This may be reading a little too deep into the details, but...
That driver seat looks way too worn for 7800 miles. This tells me that...
1) The previous owner just didn't pay attention to how they got in/out and this detail means nothing more.
2) The previous owner treated the rest of the car as poorly as the driver seat, which may explain the need for a repaint, etc.
3) The car has more than 7810 miles on it, and this car has had way more work done to it than you will ever know.
I know that may be overanalyzing a bit, but those are some of the things that run through my head when I'm purchasing a used car.
I'd walk away, regardless of price because:
- the repaint,
- the improperly painted body parts (rear valence, front grill, etc.)
- the poor condition of the paint (swirls, on new paint?),
- the missing stock parts (trim pieces, airbox, etc),
- the aftermarket stereo (is it even decent equipment, or just something to fill the spaces?),
- and the condition of the seats (just too much wear for 7810 miles).
And those are just the things I can tell from the pictures you've posted.
If I couldn't get a new one, I'd look for a private party sale, or for a Certified used Honda. With a used one certified by Honda, you'll do at least as well on price. It'll be in better condition. It'll most likely be a trade in or a previously leased car (rather than a repo). And, you'll have a decent warranty.
I hope this helps.
