Did you guys know where you S2K was when you ordered it? I mean did the dealer have a tracking number on the car or anything like that. I would like to know if it's possible to track where in the US my 01 S2K is now and if it's going to be showing up at the dealer soon...

 

All American Honda Motors dealers participate in honda.net which tracks their cars from allotment to build date to shipping to delivery. However, it is no where as sophisiticated as FedEx or UPS tracking.

My car showed up with a build date of 23 August on my dealer's 31 August honda.net report. No update happened until a few days before delivery. Meanwhile tons of Honda sedans with later build dates got VIN#'s and then ship dates assigned.

Probably, that was due to AHM holding up the incoming S2000's to take care of the seatbelt recall. I expect the flow of predelivery data to be much smoother for S2000's through the rest of this model year run. Just a guess.

I got an estimated build date, ship date from Japan, and a call when it arrived in port. I also got an estimated arrival date to the dealership ( both before port arrival and revised afterwards ) - and then a call from the dealership. This is from my brother in-law's dealership. I've got to figure that while hopefully others will get as good treatment as I did, you'd be hard pressed to get better.

When I put down a deposit on the S2K, the dealer told me that it was schedule to be built in the beginning of Nov and deliver at the end of Nov to Dec. I called at the beginning of Nov and the dealer says the car is already in the US. He even gave me the VIN and told me that it should be there in a week or two. I hope that it gets here soon!!!

 

I was given my VIN once the car arrived at the port of entry into the U.S., then it was about 3 1/2 weeks to delivery. No info about build date, ship date, etc
