Difference in Air filters
A motorcycle is a combustion-chambered vehicle, just like the S2000 is. They both use an air filter, intake system, etc. The similarities are there and comparisons can be made.
Unless someone is willing to pay for their car to be tested, you probably won?t see any. Just because K&N makes power gains on other vehicles, does not mean that it will hold true with the S. So you have no proof that K&N makes any power either then. So how do you know they do? Seat of the pants does not count.
I know people in the advertising world. One company was not happy when their ad was on the same page as an ad for dog food that showed a piece of dog crap. So yes, companies do take their image very seriously. How the magazine company reacts is dependent on how much business they could lose. If the company had a large ad budget and they were threatening to leave or the possibility that they might leave existed, they would do whatever it takes to keep the customer. Or for your example, that just prove my point more about the magazines and ad dollars. They say the product doesn?t work, but they are more then happy to take their money for the ad. If they truly cared about their readers, they would pull the ad.
I have not tested my S on a dyno and don?t plan on it. Look at some of the other replies; they are basing the fact that K&N made gains on other vehicles that the filter for the S will as well. Great results in what way, could they tell if it made more power? Have you ever heard of the placebo effect? Most of the time after someone does a mod, they will say the vehicle felt stronger, but yet it made no difference or it even hurt the performance.

Did they ever provide any numbers? The numbers must come from an independent source and not from K&N.
I am not saying that the K&N would not provide any gains. I am just saying that without any proof, all the filters are in the same category. One of them is going to be better then the rest; the question is which one is the best. Then you get into best in what way, power, filtration, etc.
