Default Differences in RHD s2ks????

Hello everyone. I am joining the Air Force on July 1 and am pretty sure that I'll be stationed in Germany. I've always wanted a RHD car, and since I'll be near England I was thinking about buying an S2k there. My question is: What is the difference between a JDM RHD S2K and an English RHD S2K??? And then in a few years, I'll come back to the states and bring my rhd s2k with me. Thanks for any info!!!!

Silly question but why would you want a RHD car when you drive on the right? Makes for some pretty unsafe overtaking. In any case the S2000 is a lot more expensive in the UK than in Germany.

So to actually answer your question...

All European models have headlight washers (ugly)
Japanese ones have a few extra hp I think?
Japanese ones have speed limiters but they are easily bypassed

Not sure if there's anything else.

But he is talking about buying over there where he will be driving on the Left side of the road. When he brings it back, the only problems he will have is passing on two lane roads. But it would make for a really nice mail car, if you get a job with the USPS.

Make that impossible!!!! you have to move almost 70% of your car onto the other lane to be able to see if anything is coming from the other side..... if you are lucky you will live to tell .... on the other hand if there is a truck coming from the otherside you won't.

On top of which you will not be able to buy a RHD if you do not live in the UK, no Honda dealer will sell you a RHD if you cannot prove that you live in the UK because its forbidden by law.

EDIT:
The only exception to this rule is if you move from the UK to main land Europe, in this case you are allowed to bring your car with you.

PS. Getting a RHD car would also mean that you would need te replace the headlight immediatly on it as the beams are directed onto the wrong side of the road.

While I drove and owned a RHD Prelude in a left side of the road drive country, I would hate to have that in the US. After driving 15 years on the left side it doesn't feel right. It also is wierd changing back and forth and shifting with either hand. It gets confusing when it becomes automatic for you.

ugotmade - He is talking about buying a RHD car but using it in Germany where they drive on the right.

antek - Plenty of people buy RHD cars in mainland Europe and take them back to the UK as the prices are much lower that way. Are you saying it's illegal to do this unless you can prove you're taking it to the UK? I don't know how that law could work in conjunction with the European free trade laws.

Also whilst you are correct about the headlights on most cars, I read on this forum somewhere that the HID headlights on the S2000 don't need adjusting.

You are allowed to buy a car with RHD anywhere in Europe, as long as you export it to the UK/Ireland, unless you find a garage that will break the rules. But then you might have a hard time registring the car, because the garage won't be able to do the registration for you, and you will have to go the technical inspection and explain to them why you have a new RHD car in country where you drive on the righthand side.

The lights must need adjusting, see for yourself drive-up to a wall and turn on your lights you will see a clear pattern on the wall, for the UK that has to be the inverse. Headlights always shine to the right in a LHD country and to the left in a RHD country, this is done so that you don't blind the oncomming trafic.
