Different ways to mount front plate?
I kept my plate mounted to the frame when I attached it. I wasn't thinking, so I could have just drilled the frame, attached that with zip ties, then mounted the plate to the frame. I guess I thought there could be an issue? - so I zip tied the whole thing together.
The frame did need a little shaving. I had to cut off of the top part a 1 inch piece of plastic that was protruding from the basic rectangular shape of the frame.
I think I used 12" zip ties, then just cut off the extra. The shorter ones were tough to work with, even if I could get them attached.

I would think that you would need to tape up the bumper instead of plate. Dirt can get trapped between the plate and the bumper and scratch it up with the window constantly blowing at the plate.
I'm going with the ragin asian's idea.

Ok, I'm going hop OFF the bandwagon here and say that I think the Rick's mount looks silly. First off, it looks like the plate is hovering in space some distance in front of the bumper. Why? Second, people usually have the plate at a slight downward angle, making it look like the mount is broken. To each his own; but to me it looks weird and unfinished, and I'll bet to most people that see it, it looks broken. Flame me if you want.
I really dislike the looks of the license plate hanging from the upper lip of the car. So, I had my body shop remove the bracket and female threads from behind the bumper and move them down behind the lower lip. Holes for the bolts were drilled in the lip and the bracket was epoxied in place. The extension on the bottom of the plastic OEM license plate frame was cut off and the frame painted. It is flipped over and bolted through the lower lip.

I did the zip tie method.
What I did was cut an alignment slot in the little bump out and zip tied it securely. A golf ball can almost fit through the vents in the grill so I suspect the front plate will not hamper airflow much and may save your condenser from a stray rock. IMO it looks better than the slanted flapping in the breeze mount.
