Differential issues
I'm looking for some advise, and perhaps a honest answer about my rear diffential. It makes a whining noise when i make a slow sharp turn, mainly when i'm starting out and turning. I took it to my dealership and they replaced the differential fluid, which was black I heard them oversay. Then they proceeded to tell me that the noise was normal when doing lock to lock turns. I just can't believe that it's normal to have the whining noise. My car is a new 07 and has 1,500 miles on it.
when i bought my my04 it made a little whinning noises on u-turns only in 2nd gear. And i got 64k on my car now and i changed the fluid at 35k and at 60k, and no other problems besides the little whinning on u-turns thats all.

my 07 does that, its normal, this is a sports car so it will have some sports car noises, its not a lexus
Most likely you are hearing the LSD at work. In tight slow turns, one wheel is moving faster than the other, and this makes the LSD lock up. I've had a faint groaning sound that was coming from my 06 at slow turns, but it went away after putting some LE 607 in the diff.
