Hey Randy,

thanks for pointing this out but why do all the VW's run around with the blue light which I think is less disturbing thant the Audi's ALL BRIGHT RED Speedo's?!

I am really not offending you and believe what you say but still don't get it...

Best Greetings,

Yves

Red wavelengths of light don't diminish your night vision while other colors do.

That's why astronomers use red bulbs in observatories--you're night vision will be affected when you look at a blue dash.

During the day--who cares?

Stocky, I am interested in the all blue, if that does not include the low fuel light, engine, and key. I think that most things would look fine in blue but I really liked the way the 4th gen preludes worked. Mostly blue but anything out of the norm was red.

Either way I will most likely go with something so please keep us informed.

Yves, as far as I know, blue gauges are in the minority, nobody said VW's choice was the safest one, just a neat looking cool one! (I would tend to believe the majority don't use blue for some reason--most likely it's cheaper!!! Heh..)

Nick, great that you have no problems...I on the other hand, tend to dim the dash lights on all my cars about half way, regardless of color.

Enjoy,

Randy

Stocky: That's the reason why guys flying from America to Amsterdam (or Hamburg) spend their money in the Red Light District .
The blue lighted boxes are at the gas stations .

Just to keep you updated

Main problem I am working on is the bended (curved) shape of the REVs.

Tried many things...seems like I am going either for a 3 piece (0-4000 4000-7000 and 7000-9000) or to put EL light cabling to keep the costs down under 90 USD.
You won't see that afterwards though...result will be the same than next option...just a little bit more work while installing.

Taking an A5 foil an cutting it into the right size (the curved shape) would cost about 280 USD.

Making a real custom part (specially produced for us ) is about 3000 USD.

So I guess first option would be the best...but don't worry...will be a clean thing either way.

2nd option is feasable too if anyone is willing to pay that price.

3rd option is out of the range I guess

Second big problem is the limited space inside to get it properly connected.

On mine it is quite nicely connected but was a hard way to got and I wanna make it as easy as possible for you guys.
