Yummy! Definitely something I will eventually do.

Strangely enough, while I love the digital dash, part of me yearns for analog gauges for temp and such. Weird.

Rick nice job - but I can't help but think that it looks quite ugly.

Have you thought of installing the guages behind the door, and cutting out say a trapezoidal piece out of the door and replacing it with dark pexi - such that the guages show from behind when lit up.

That way we don't have the 4 bug eyes

tze,

Good thought, but I doubt there's sufficient room to do this and without removing the head unit, as Louis did.

How visible are readouts on a bright day?

In Woody Allen's movie "Sleeper," there was an Orgasmatron that had a gauge that showed how much pleasure was being experienced by the person inside!

Any chance you could include such a readout for when VTECing starts?

Not my Style pesonally, Im wondering why you didnt go the whole hog and use an LCD panel, instead of the x number of gauges. That would have allowed you to use a PIC/ processor to drive the display.

Advantages:
Easy to upgrade/add to new sensors
Change the user interface.

Disadvantages
Cost...

Hmmm think ill have a go with the old iPaq

Palmateer,

I think bright enough to see quite well.

Tuney,

We are not electronics wizards and wanted to use stock, readily available parts requiring nothing more than some soldering skills to assemble. We searched high and low for a more sophisticated, off-the shelf digital display with the right readouts, one compatable with the digital dash, but could not find one. I was hoping to find to digital instruments with analog-type displays, but to no avail.

That would be a great solution. I am just afraid that it raises costs substantially.. and complicates the kit idea because you might have to offer it in easy and hard versions. I think I would be willing to pay an extra $100 or so for the better integrated implementation but it may not be that easy.
