I finally talked to comptech about the new SC bracket they have developed (see https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...hlight=brackets for pics).

I have already had the brackets on each side break, the most recent time just a couple of months ago. When I saw the post above, I thought "great, with this new bracket it looks like I don't have to worry about brackets breaking again".

After talking with comptech, their policy is that they will NOT provide the new bracket as a retrofit to customers who have had broken brackets in the past. They will only provide the new bracket to people when a bracket breaks (or breaks again)

However, if you don't want to wait until a bracket breaks, comptech will SELL you the new bracket (at a very reasonable price, I am told)

I'm pissed

 

Apparently another week or two before they have them to ship...you might want to call them yourself to check exactly when.

Please report your impressions after you get the new bracket installed.
