Hey, PJK,

My AHM representative was unable to find any dealer in Massachusetts to do the work. She is having it out with the region managers, as that's outrageous.

A dealer in upstate NY has been identified who is willing. it's about a five hour drive (or more) for me, but I told here I would do it if no others could be found.

Once I lock and load, I'll post. Best wishes.

jeez. i guess we owe many thanks to lawyers and people who can't seem to take responsibility for their own actions....

Sounds like the aftermarket cut-off switch installed by Sensible Solutions that I have on my S.

Looks like I'll be heading to Middletown Honda (in New York) to get my airbag done. Amazing that AHM corporate couldn't get a single dealer in Massachusetts to agree to do the work.

It's not like I'm asking them to do it for free or anything...

Anyway, I'm glad to be making some progress.

glad to hear it... still shocked that no one in Mass would do it.
clearly there are too many lawyers up there...

btw, i'm in the midst of fighting it w/ AHM, my DSM, and working w/ local service manager over the hole in my top... stray piece of frame metal punctured it... i did get a preliminary call from the manager saying that he has nothing firm yet, but he thinks they are going to 'take care of it.' i'm just hoping it isn't Godfather style...
(but wait, this is the wrong thread for that... as soon as i get more info on that i'll be posting over there...)

just letting you know... i kinda feel your pain.

Hey guys, my Honda airbag on/off switch is being installed next Monday (24-May-04) at Middletown Honda in Middletown, New York. Hey, it's 200 miles, but after waiting 6 months or so to get traction on this I think I can handle it.

Folks who've had the Honda switch installed (jcavalie, pjk3): anything I should watch out for? Any mistakes on your installation or sloppiness that I should inspect after the dealer does the work?

Because of my arrangements, I won't be able to document the install with pictures (sorry), but I'll take plenty of the finished product.

actually, i still haven't had one installed...

*runs for cover*

but considering that Honda is doing it, i would probably do the normals (check for lose panels, missing items, rattles, etc.), but would also take the time to track back the wiring a bit (if possible) and confirm solid fits on all the harnesses... one thing for sure... if the SRS light comes on, you've got problems.

sorry Chaz if i made implications that i had one installed... i didn't mean to... still, it is more likely now that i will as my daughter will soon be going to school (next fall) and may need daily rides.
