Default DIY Vented Hood

I've looked over the DIY Vented Hood Thread time and time again and I'm very interested in doing it. I was just curious as to how many people have actually done it successfully and if you have any tips or advice before I get to cutting. I'm kind of leery when it comes to ripping into a factory hood, especially without having a backup...

Get a steady hand and be sure to use an air saw. I have receive multiple compliments about the cuts and I dont even think they are that nice. I only did one cut and my buddy who does this sort of stuff made the other three. There is a pic in the ohio section under the cincy drive. Try to make the best templates as possible when tracing, it also helps if you dont have a black car. LOL

i did the hood cutouts myself with great success. as the original thread states, i used a uni bit for the corners and i went a little different and used a dremel with a diamond coated, thin grinder blade for the straight cuts. just be sure to take your time and do it right, because as you said you don't have a spare.

Yeah, I was planning on using a Dremel with a pen attachment b/c I don't have an air tool setup. I'm fairly confident in my steady hand, but I'll make sure not to get ahead of myself.

Thanks for your advice! Keep it comin if there's more.

somehow mine ended up just OK only , as the alum sheet flexed and now it looks wavy after the cut.
