Default Do other drivers flash their high beams at you?

This happened to me for about the third of fourth time since I've had my car in under a year. I'm driving along during a nice sunny day, without my headlights on, and someone going in the other direction with flash their high beams at me quickly. Is it acknowledgment for enjoying my ride? I always check the sightings thread and no one posts up saying they saw me, so I'm confused and was curious if this happens to others as well.

If it's an s2k, they're saying hi. If not, heavy on the brakes because there's a cop ahead.

Before you were born this was the way people told you a cop was ahead and to slow down. It's a lost art.

I always flash to warn others. If im on my bike I'll tap my helmet. But i agree its a lost art. Thankfully some of us still remember to practice it.

Exactly. Same in my area. Think of it as a favor from a fellow motorist.

This is other motorists in general. I have heard about their being a cop ahead though. Also heard it was now something you could get ticketed for.

Once upon a time I passed a speed trap at night, and flashed the next car (lonely road) that I saw to warn him of the situation.

..Well the car that I flashed my lights at flipped a bitch, turned his own special red & blues on and pulled me over

He asked why I was flashing my lights, and I made up a story about how I thought his brights were on (it was kinda hilly, so decent excuse) he even specifically asked me if it was because I was warning traffic of a speed trap and I (being young) was able to act like I'd never heard of that before.

He let me off with a warning, but now I only flash other people during the day time
