Default Do people TAILGATE the S more?

Does anyone else feel like people are more prone to tailgating the S than other cars? I've had problems with tailgaters with other cars before, but not nearly as frequent as it seems in the S2000.

I'm not talking about blocking the fast lane either, I'm talking about ALL the time. In light traffic, heavy traffic, or stop and go, why is it that people like to follow closely and stop 12 inches from your rear bumper and occupy your entire rear view mirror? Is it because they can see right through your windshield and feel "safer" following so closely? .

I swear, if I had a nickel for every time I wished I had an old sparkplug to chuck over my right shoulder...

Caution -- Objects in mirror appear to be bigger and closer than they really are.
It doesn't say that on the interior mirror, but it sure seems like it should. HPH

I feel the same way. Maybe it seems that way since the back of our cars are so short....

I know exactly what you are talking about. I feel the same way.

I think it's because there really isn't much distance between were we sit in the S2K and the back bumper. Because of this, it appears like the car behind you is 2 inches off your bumper.

I do not get that feeling in my other car (300c) and I'm sure that the people behind me are not driving any differently.

It's normally not a problem as long as there's clear road in front of me.

I've not only noticed this, but since buying a S2000, I've noticed a greater tendency for cars on the highway to speed up if I'm trying to pass them. Also, people seem less prone to let me change lanes in front of them. It wasn't just me noticing this -- it was pointed out to me by a friend who is frequently driving with me, and noticed the change from the experience with my last car as well without me bringing up the topic with her previously.

Honestly, I feel like people give me more space in the S2000 than my previous cars, BUT as it was pointed out, the S2000 is a very small car so in actuality, people are probably just driving the same and I'm simply noticing the difference in space.
