when u go to the movies, mall, restaurant, work, whatever - do you leave the top down if it's nice outside? or do u always put it up when you'll be gone for more than a few min?

i would never leave the top down if i'm leaving the car unless i'd have full view of the car from where i am and i'm only gone for a couple of minutes.

I leave the top down and cover it if I'm going to be more than a few minutes unless it is windy or if it looks like it's going to rain. (which in the Pacific Northwest is 360 days a year) In that case, I'll put the top up.

I just put it up, it only takes a couple seconds, and gives me peace of mind.

I will actually leave the top down when I am out. If someone wants something out of your car or the entire car, then the SOFT top is not going to stop them. I would rather they just took what they wanted and left the top alone.

Using the soft top as a security device is like putting catholic preists in charge of a YMCA or a boy scout camping trip.

but at least you aren't asking for somebody to reach in, open the door, sit in it...mess around with it...my windows aren't tinted...look in it.

I don't know, I don't think a soft top would stop anybody, I just think it is much easier for somebody to get in with it up...isn't it?

I have an alarm with microwave sensors. If I had the top down, reaching into my car will cause it to give a warning beep at first and then set off the alarm.

If ever I park withthe roof off, it is only when I'm not going to be long (hate for it to rain while I was away). I always keep the ash tray open and nothing in view (amazing what people will do to steal some loose change from a car). I also lock the centre console with my key before I walk away.

Same here, the birds around here have good aim, don't need to sit in a surprise.

Only if I can see it. We ate lunch the other day and parked with the top down but also picked a window with the car in full view.

Hi, MattG, does you new alarm interface with your keyless entry? What is the make and model of the alarm? I had a similar Alpine alarm in my Prelude and it was great. Thanks!
