More spirited top down, faster top up.
I think top up the lack of noise (relative) means higher speeds(highway), but top down is higher revs, more agressive tuns and ramp entries.

Hope that makes sense on spirited vs speed

I find myself driving slower with the top down, but because the car feels quicker when top down, not because I'm trying to drive one way or another.

Dang it, good question...

I guess to me personally I react differently depending on the situation. On the freeway I drive slower with the top down in hope NOT to ruin my hair (HAHAHA don't talk about it...) but in town I drive faster because it's cool

Definitely drive more aggressively with the top down. The experience is more visceral, the sound of the engine/exhaust, the wind in your hair.

I've had mine up to 125 MPH with top up and top down. Didn't see a reason to go faster; I know its theoretical top speed. In any case, I was quite surprised at the relatively low noise level that fast with the top down. I was expecting a jet stream roar.

Much faster acceleration. Generally slower cruising speeds.

Always faster top down.

If the top has to be up, speed is usually zero
