Default Wow, this is why I dont do my own work

This is what happens when I try to work on my car myself. I ended screwing stuff up. This was going to be my first ever oil change and I guess I hit and improper jackpoint despite the car jack saying otherwise. I guess I misunderstood it.

Is it bad? I dont even know what part of the car that is. Is it the frame or fender?

That's the fender, it can be taken off and straightened out.

I did the same thing to mine once, looked much worse.

The proper jack point is further back, you can see it in the second to last picture, with the metal tab that is bent over. Common mistake

Did you have it jacked up at the point where the marks are on the top pick? I believe the jack point is further back. That area is reinforced for jacking. And yea it really isnt that bad. Just dont look at it!!!

If I am wrong someone please correct me.

^^ I believe that is incorrect. The jack point is the folded tab (as stated above by spets), indicated below by the yellow arrow.

It's all the same bar, doesn't matter where on the bar you lift it.

putnik is right showing the arrow. And its not all the same part, if you look you see its a different gauge of metal, connected to a different part of the car. This is why its good to have a beater or less important car to practice working on.

Exactly. You can flick each side and feel the difference. It's in the exact same spot as my 300ZX aswell as I'm sure a lot of other sports cars.
