Oh, man, that's gorgeous! I've always loved British green and those wire wheels are to die for! I wish Honda would offer the S2000 in that color. Tan or black interior would look great.

Thanks for sharing.

Very Nice Dig.

I've always liked BRG. If I remember wasn't there a deal once about never being able to win in BRG?

Kind of like the red sox thing?

Beautiful Car

You're thinking of the Spitfire GT BobbyB. The Stag is the 2nd picture from the right in DLQ's signature two posts above your post.

I am another of the old school drivers here. My first convertible was a 1970 Sptifire Mk III.

I prefer the "cheaper" roadsters, such as the Miata MX5, as I believe the owners are more likely to be enthusiasts rather than posers.

One thing I can't stand is people driving convertibles with their roof up all the time. The only time my roof is up is if it is raining heavily , at all other times it is down....

... and yes, there has been many a time I have to chamois dry my interior when I get to my destination after driving in drizzling rain.

Thanks all for the on the car & color. You'll will no doubt be surprised to learn the MGA never really came in BRG. Early models came in Tyrolite green (kinda like BRG) and Ash green (light green) and then green was dropped in the final years. Personally, I like the BRG too and plan to keep it that color.

I recall something about a green jinx and I think it had to do with early Indy.

I don't mean to take over the thread but it sounds like I'm with friends - People Who Love Roadsters Like I Do - so I must post a pix of my lost but long time friend who saved my life a couple months ago and I am salvaging parts off her as we speak. My friend of 32 years in Red:

Wood steering wheel, driving gloves, admiring kids . . . life is good! And an S2000 to track as well . . . life is REALLY good!!

Those are some nice Triumphs guys
I have to agree with most of you here. Ive always liked and wanted to own a 2-seat manual shift roadster, especially afterseeing and driving the S2000.
However, i do have a soft-spot for other roadsters out there regardless of make and performance as well. Though not in the same category performance and pricewise, i do like and also considered the Boxster,TT, and SLK.
Had i been living in Europe again, i would love to own the New Alfa Spyder roadster. Thats one hot car, especially seeing one up close i Portugal its just beutiful. Also nice is the Peugeot roadster (307 model i think it was?) new Fiat roadster, and the OPEL which looks somewhat similar to the Lotus. And gotta love the Elise!

Well, I'll add my 2 cents as well...I absolutely feel an affinity with all roadster drivers. My first one was a 1968 Triumph Spitfire (amazing how many of us started with a Triumph, isn't it?) Then a '77 TR-7, which wasn't really a roadster, because it wasn't a convertible. Then a hiatus while my kids were of driving age and still living at home. I re-entered the realm with a 1988 RX-7 Convertible -- probably my favorite car I've ever owned -- drove it for ten years, nearly cried when I sold it.

Now I drive a MY02 S2000. When I was shopping, my criteria were it had to be a convertible, had to have manual transmission, had to be a two seater, and my golf clubs had to fit in the trunk. The fact that Honda finally was making a car that fit that description made it easy.

I actually wasn't aware of the spectacular handling/performance until after I bought it and started reading about it. Nice bonus though (:-)

Absolute affinity towards ALL things topless

Although my preferences tend to lean toward the UK-produced variety, with the exception of the S of course! The fews MGs pictured in this thread are gorgeous, to be sure! Congrats to you all!

In the stable currently:

'46 MG TC (RH drive)
'76 Triumph TR6
'03 S2000 (I guess I should trade it for an '06 when it comes out and continue my 30-year leap-frog pattern Actually - hope an '06 DOESN'T come out, but I guess I'm just selfish)

Next - Want some V8 muscle - Cobra of some sort within 3-5 years, if all goes as planned...

And when I hit lotto - Aston DB5 convertible. Mama!

I definitely love the old roadsters. As for the S2000, the roadster part was icing on the cake. I loved the performance and Honda reliability first. However, if I were to make a list of affordable roadsters that will eventually make it into my garage (My dream home is a studio apartment on top of a 10 car garage) the following would make it, in exact rank:

1) 1959 Alfa Romeo Guilietta Spyder (Twin-Cam 120hp 4-cyl w/ Pininfarina Styling)

2) Porsche 356 Cabriolet (Can't afford a Speedster)

3) Austin Healey 3000 MkIII (like the practicality of roll-up windows)

4) Triumph TR5/TR250 (TR6 engine with original Michelotti designed TR4 body)

5) Sunbeam Tiger (Baby Cobra - w/ 260ci Ford V8)

6) MGB (w/ the MGB GTV8 engine installed)

7) Early Alfa Romeo Spyder Duetto (boat tail just like in the Graduate)

Man, any of those would be perfect, sitting on some genuine minilites.
