Don't losten to TKim. I let him drive my E36 M3 one night in college to bring this chick home from the bar. He stalled that shit out and had dry penis for the night.

btw..Heel-Toe wasn't meant to save your brakes.

I play around in unobstructed turns but mostly I'm in such heavy traffic that there's just no point.

yeah, it seriously becomes a habit. Real street heel toe skills come from being able to moderate the brake pressure at slow speeds (not your typical competition heel-toe where you push the pedal down all the way) that way you don't nose dive your car at 30 mph trying to go from 4th to 3rd.
Couldn't agree more. Especially on the breaking part... people are usually quite impressed with how smooth my downshifts\breaking are and that comes from everyday practice. Anyone else a weirdo like me and time the pressure\release of the break so that the car stops and the suspension unloads at the exact same time?

I find it harder to heel - toe in the S, sometimes I just can't find the throttle. I practice every chance I get. I can heel - toe in my DD like a champ, every gear every time.

also...I love the sound of the throttle blip with an aftermarket exhaust (AMUSE for example) when downshifting before a corner.....gives me a rumble in my pants

Yeah, I even heel-toe in my Accord. It's a whole different experience, though. The engine is less powerful and the flywheel is heavier, so it takes more time for the revs to climb to the right RPM. But, by the same token, once the revs are up, they'll hang a bit longer... which has gotten me into the bad habit of hesitating before releasing the clutch. It works fine in the Accord, but when I get into the S2000, the revs fall faster and I get a poor rev-match.
