affirmative, I rev match and heel-toe on a daily basis. as for footwear, a narrow pair with thin soles would be a good (Pumas) but once you get the hang of it, you can heel-toe with any foot wear. I even do it wearing flip flops. 
Dress shoes, Sandals, skate shoes, but I like Chucks the really thin sole and how easy they bend makes it really easy
