Do you keep the spare tire in the trunk?

If you have a flat on the rear. You jack up the back remove the rear, now how do you remove the front to put the front on the rear and the spare on the front without lowering the rear onto the flat placed horizontally possibly scratching it. Or will the front jack point raise the whole side? Maybe I'm missing something

foreversilver: I can answer this question since I just had my s2000 jacked up....
The s2000 has a pretty stiff sway bar settings so when u jack up the rear, the front will lift up too at some point when you go high enough. Of course the car will be totering a bit but it's adequate to change out the front tire in an emergency. (actually ur post made me think about this too...haha) I think you need to swap the front tire with the spare, then put the front tire on the rear.
NFRs2000NYC :
So are you saying a 265 rim/tire combo won't fit into the rear well tub section? hmmm gotta go try it out once I get my new rims!
My plan is that if I do ever get a flat on a long trip is to put whatever luggage I have in the passenger section (have my g/f hold it) and then drive to the local tire shop ASAP.
I think if you are out in the middle of nowhere (on I5 it is pretty much the entire distance from San Jose to Portland) it's better to swap the tire yourself than wait 2 hours for AAA and then be stuck riding with the driver for 2 hours to a station!

I recently removed the spare to clean the car, and just kinda forgot to put it back in - though I don't think I will need a spare anymore. I never had a spare in my old Prelude because I stripped the trunk for weight reduction.
On the other hand, what happens if you use the spare on the rear wheels?
