V1, comes on when the ignition does. Wouldn't drive without it, even though I don't really speed much. I'm a 5mph over kind of guy 95% of the time.

By the way, the V1 sucks at night.
ALL radar works better at night because the light of the sun doesn't interfere with the radio waves and the detector's capabilities. Think a little bit before you say something or get an education.

I can't answer the poll because it depends. In the S, it is on all the time (simply because it's there). In the Sport Trac and Insight, they are in the glove box and only come out when I plan to exceed the speed limit by a significent amount. Don't have one for the Cobra, but probably should. I would have to create a place to attach it and also create some power for it.

P.S. I have three Bel's and have had Bel's for 15 years. They have NEVER let me down and have saved me and my wife NUMEROUS times. A fellow S driver had his Valentine on and was passing me coming home from Sac2KdaysII when I picked up the CHP LONG before he did. He asked me later why I had slowed down so quickly before his detector had gone off and I told him "Because mine did." He switched after that. I have tried other brands and just wasn't satisfied, but then I haven't tried another brand for about 7 years. I just always come back to Bel.
